On September 19, Nate, his Big Jeff, and Nate’s Little Asher joined our team, several board members, TD SYNNEX, and the Tampa Bay Rays for a special day at the ballpark. Following a check presentation through the Double Play initiative, Asher stepped onto the field to throw out the first pitch, right to his Big, Nate.
The moment was especially meaningful because Nate once stood on that very same field and threw the first pitch to his Big, Jeff, early in their mentoring relationship. Years later, Nate had the opportunity to share that same experience with Asher, creating a full-circle moment that beautifully reflects the lasting impact of mentorship.
Through the Double Play initiative, TD SYNNEX pledged to donate $250 for every double play turned by the Tampa Bay Rays defense at home games throughout the regular season. Each year, a local nonprofit focused on youth development, education, or mentorship is selected as the program’s primary beneficiary, and we were honored to be selected this year.
Just as Nate and Asher show us, meaningful impact happens when people show up and get involved. There are so many ways to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay and the youth we serve across our nine-county service area, including joining us at an upcoming event.
